Bellazul, a Mediterranean restaurant on Marylebone’s Blandford Street is now open. Inspired by the tranquil and peaceful lifestyle of southern Europe, Bellazul is a laid-back neighbourhood restaurant and bar, designed to transport diners to the sun-kissed shores of the Mediterranean.

Head Chef Simone Serafini, previously Head Chef of Cecconi’s, Cacciari’s and Mayfair’s exclusive private members club 5 Hertford Street, has created a menu that takes diners on a journey across the Mediterranean, from the rolling hills and rich flavours of Italy to the shores of Greece and its islands and even the warm spices found in Morocco. Seasonally-changing small plates will include gambas al ajillo and Sicilian arancini whilst larger plates designed for sharing will include paella de marisco and whole grilled roast beer black poulet noit. A selection of flatbreads, straight from the pizza oven, will include melanzane, ricotta and pancetta and the provola, patate e tartufo nero.

The drinks menu continues Bellazul’s commitment to authenticity, curating a wine list that reflects the biodiversity of the Mediterranean with pours from Portugal, France and Italy amongst other, lesser known but abundant wine regions. For those looking to kick off the evening, a considered cocktail list will also be available alongside the wine menu, including the Bellazul Martini with focaccia infused gin, basil and tomato water, burnt garlic and homemade curacao syrup and the Retro@43 with bourbon, clarified milk punch, smoked vanilla syrup and orange bitters.

The restaurant’s interiors have been thoughtfully designed to reflect the Mediterranean, with large arched windows that frame the entrance, flooding the room with natural light. Upon entering, guests are welcomed to Azul, an intimate spot for guests to stop by and enjoy a drink or two before dinner alongside a selection of smaller, sharing plates. Descending the staircase, guests will step into the restaurant and are met with the rustic, earth tones that bring Bellazul to life.
